LADY CRABTREE'S OLD FASHIONED LAVENDER SOAP
£4.50 each (3oz/85g bar) including p&p
In 2012 the award winning firm of MESMERICK, based in the Scottish borders, honoured Lady Crabtree by creating a new luxury soap in their range, which is named after her. Using her favourite fragrance, lavender, the soap is made from 100% pure ingredients including Oil of Coconut and Palm Oil for a luxurious lather. Dried lavender flowers are added for a slight but natural exfoliation effect.
Lavender is a healing herb that has been used for centuries to make soaps, teas and fragrance sachets. The essential oil of lavender is the ingredient used to make soaps, since it contains all the herb's volatile and aromatic oils.
According to research, lavender essential oil has strong antibacterial and antiseptic properties that make it a good agent for curing insect bites and sunburn. Soaps made with lavender essential oil are a healing aid for any type of skin infection. Lavender's antibacterial properties have also rendered it effective in treating scabies and eczema. For acute conditions, lather the soap to make a thick paste and cover the affected skin. Rinse thoroughly with cool water and pat dry.
Lavender is noted for its crisp and clean fragrance with sweet, floral overtones that makes it popular amongst soap makers. A favourite with Lady Crabtree, this Lavender soap in the dear Dowager's favourite fragrance, is made with pure goats milk for even better healing and curative properties. Dried Lavender flowers are pressed into the base of each hand made soap. You only have to look at Lady Crabtree's beautiful skin to see the efficacy.

SOME REACTIONS TO THE SOAP LAUNCH:
Wow! What a lovely surprise. This could be the start of something big!! You now need the TV commercial to promote it. Lady C is now the "fragrant" Lady C. Lois Hughes, Eastbourne
Oh , they look wonderful and I bet they smell gorgeous too.
I love Lavender. I may just treat myself to some.
How wonderful to have a soap named after you.
Paul Dunford, Sittingbourne
How exciting, j'adore lavender! I remember as a child saving up my pocket money and on my father's advice purchased lavender talc and bath cubes for my mother's christmas present. Funny how you remember these things. Kenneth Sutherland, London

First I have to remember what soap is for. Do I eat it to get the required effect?! Derek Legg, Eastbourne
Amazing!!! Martin Ramsdin, London
Well, what do I say! Elizabeth Taylor had nothing on Lady Crabtree. Having a soap named after you is just fabulous. Lady Crabtree will become known all over the world and, who knows, may be in a TV commercial or on the hoardings. Alice Percy, Westcliff-on-Sea
